An afternoon and evening of Film and Music - £5 all day ticket admits ticket holder to all events

2pm

PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably, our Live Films Soundtracks performance has to be cancelled due to illness among the HD9 Ensemble which has hindered rehearsals and preparations and means the performance will not be ready for the set date. It is hoped to rearrange a future date in the new year.  All other events (below) as advertised

3.30pm Squaring the Circle (The Hipgnosis Story)

Dir. Anton Corbijn (UK 2022, 101mins 15)

Hugely enjoyable documentary on Storm Thorgerson and Po Powell, the creative geniuses behind the iconic and extraordinary album covers of Pink Floyd and bands of the 60s and 70s.

5.30pm Shove It!: The Xero Slingsby Story

Dir. Robert Stanley Crampton (UK 2022, 100mins 15)

A larger-than-life character, Matthew Coe aka Xero Slingsby was an inspirational force in 1980s jazz with his fiery punk style. From busking on the streets of Yorkshire (and arrested over 40 times) to his trio The Works’ live success, his passionate spirit and high energy concerts won over many fans across Europe.

7.30pm In the Court of the Crimson King: King Crimson at 50

Dir. Toby Amies (UK 2022, 126mins 15)

A brilliant, dark, unflinching and at times wonderfully comic portrait of the prog-rock band. Even if you’re not a fan of the music you will enjoy this exploration of creativity and the sacrifices made in what is possibly the best rock documentary ever.
